My Mighty Hunter

Last weekend was Tanner's first big game hunt. He has hunted lots of small game including; Turkey, pesky birds, a neighborhood cat that was causing trouble (it wasn't killed or injured), lizards, bunnies, mice, even a fly or two with a b.b. gun. If it moves, Tanner wants to hunt it. If you were to ask him to go to his "happy place", it would be in the mountains hunting with his motorcycle back at camp. That's where he's in his element, so you can imaging the permagrin upon that boy's face when he killed his first deer with his muzzleloader. He went hunting with all the Barney men and his dad. I don't know if Ryan understands how much it meant to Tanner to have him there; and I know Tanner doesn't understand how much it took for Ryan to be there. Ryan was able to teach Tanner how to do those man things like: gut, and skin a deer. Tanner cut a hunk of meat off that night and cooked it in the open camp fire. He sat there like a caveman eating deer meat off a stick! Oh the memories they all made for him and I'm so happy he has them.
Thank you to all the men who were with Tanner and made his hunt "the best ever."Especially Scoot who made sure Tanner had everything for the hunt, the gun sightings, gun cleanings, trips to Sportsman's, and his dad.

Hi Julie. Karen Ekins here. I saw your blog and just had to say how much Tanner looks exactly like his dad. I wouldn't have recognized Ryan if Tanner wasn't sitting next to him. You have such a cute family and how fun to join two families together. I bet it is a party at your house everyday.

I think that is so awesome that Ryan and Scooter can get along and do things with Tanner together. You are so right about Tanner having great memories about hunting with both his Dads.
